I have nothing to report on the home front. Other hobbies and vehicle repairs have taken up all my time again. On the plus side, I now have full working knowledge of motorcycle carburetor repair and the home brewing set up at my friends house now has dual zone, low power, automated fermentation temperature control. All thanks to some foam and a Raspberry Pi.
I did discover that my house is a block away from the local 4th of July parade. That was an excellent surprise. I'm a sucker for kitschy americana like that.
Don't forget to visit that Habitat ReStore!
ReplyDeleteAt our new house we are in a neighborhood removed from the parades. When we lived in our loft in downtown Binghamton though, our windows literally looked over the main parade route. Best seats in the house (and we could go out on the roof to watch as well.)
Are these Instagram shots?
It's not Instagram. I was trying out a cheap Mac app called Analog. Normally I use photoshop for my color treatments but I was trying out Analog to see if it would speed up the process. It's not a bad little app once you mess with the treatment levels.
DeleteThe ReStore is one of my favorite places. We have two locations already around St. Louis and I've heard rumor of a third one opening soon.
Raspberry Pi's are amazing and it's just incredible the things people are building with them. I highly recommend you pick one up sometime. Its like an Arduino on steroids.
Oh yeah - pretty sweet on using a Raspberry Pi. I really need to tinker with one of those!
